Do you make your own Jamon, prosciutto or other smallgoods?
The Lara Food and Wine Festival has an amateur competition for homemade Jamon, prosciutto and other smallgoods. Last year's competition attracted a large number of very high quality entries from far and wide.
The main prize, a perpetual trophy, honours the memory of Angel Cardoso, who for many years produced exceptional smallgoods from his home factory, all cured using the traditional methods of past times.
The "Artisan Smallgoods Competition" is a part of the Lara Food and Wine Festival and celebrates the artistry of homemade and naturally cured smallgoods. The aim is to honour, remember and create a legacy for local artisan small goods producer Angel Cardoso and to recognise those who still produce their own special homemade smallgoods.
The winner stands to win a cash prize of $500, with $300 for second and $200 for third, so get your entries in.
Entries are to be delivered to the Lara Community Centre, Waverley Road, Lara, (03) 5282 2725
